Terms & Conditions
Last updated: June 2026
These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the Print3D ordering platform and all related services (collectively, the "Service"). By placing an order you agree to these Terms in full.
1. Service Description
Print3D provides on-demand FDM 3D printing services. You upload a digital model file, configure print settings, and we manufacture and ship the physical part to your address. We also sell physical goods (filament, parts, tools, and accessories) through our online shop.
2. Orders and Payment
- All prices are in US dollars and exclude shipping and applicable taxes.
- Payment is processed securely via Stripe. We do not store card details.
- Your order is confirmed when payment is successfully processed and you receive a confirmation email.
- We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any order for any reason, including but not limited to pricing errors, suspected fraud, or inability to manufacture the requested part.
3. Cancellations and Refunds
- You may cancel a paid order within 60 minutes of placement via your order history page. A full refund will be issued automatically to your original payment method within 5–10 business days.
- After 60 minutes, cancellations are at our discretion. Contact us as soon as possible — if production has not begun we will cancel at no charge.
- If a printed part has a manufacturing defect, contact us within 14 days of delivery with photos. We will reprint or refund at our discretion.
- Refunds are not provided for parts that print correctly but do not meet your functional requirements when that is due to your own design choices.
4. File Uploads and Intellectual Property
- By uploading a file you confirm that you own or have the right to manufacture the design and that doing so does not infringe any third-party intellectual property rights.
- We will not share, sell, or use your uploaded files for any purpose other than fulfilling your order.
- We reserve the right to decline orders for parts that appear to infringe third-party IP or that are intended for unlawful purposes.
- Uploaded files are stored securely and deleted 90 days after order completion unless you have saved them to your model library.
5. Print Quality and Tolerances
- FDM printing is a manufacturing process with inherent tolerances. Typical dimensional accuracy is ±0.2 mm or ±0.5%, whichever is greater.
- Layer lines are visible on FDM parts by default. If a smooth finish is required, select a surface finish add-on at checkout.
- Warping, stringing, and minor surface artifacts are inherent to FDM and do not constitute a defect unless they affect part dimensions beyond the stated tolerance.
6. Turnaround and Shipping
- Standard production turnaround is 3–5 business days from file approval, not including shipping transit time.
- Rush and Express options reduce production turnaround but do not affect carrier transit times.
- Stated turnaround times are estimates, not guarantees. Delays caused by equipment maintenance, material shortages, or carrier issues are not grounds for cancellation or refund.
- Shipping risk passes to the carrier upon handoff. We are not liable for carrier delays, loss, or damage, but we will file a claim on your behalf.
7. Prohibited Items
We will not print weapons, weapon components, items designed to harm people or animals, counterfeit products, or any item that is illegal in the United States or the customer's jurisdiction.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Print3D's total liability for any claim arising from the Service is limited to the amount paid for the order in question. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or incidental damages.
9. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, USA. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Cook County, Illinois.
10. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

9. Stock Availability and Order Delays
While we maintain inventory of all listed materials, demand fluctuations and supply chain variability mean that from time to time a filament may be temporarily out of stock after your order is placed and payment processed.
- If a required filament is unavailable when we begin production, we will immediately notify you by email and move your order to Delayed status.
- You will be given the choice to:
- Wait for restock — we will make every reasonable effort to restock within 3–7 business days and will apply a 5% discount to your order total as compensation for the inconvenience; or
- Cancel for a full refund — your original payment will be returned within 5–10 business days.
- If you do not respond within 7 days we will continue to hold your order and attempt to fulfil it as soon as stock arrives.
- We do not accept liability for consequential losses arising from production delays caused by stock shortfalls.
10. Manufacturing Process — Bed Adhesives
FDM 3D printing requires the first layer of a print to adhere firmly to the print bed during production. To achieve this we apply a thin layer of a bed adhesive (such as a PVA-based glue stick, hairspray, or a specialised printing surface coating) to the build plate before printing.
- In most cases no adhesive residue is transferred to the finished part. However, from time to time a very small amount of adhesive may remain on the bottom face of a print (the first-layer surface).
- Any such residue is non-toxic, water-soluble, and will not harm the structural integrity, appearance, or intended function of the part.
- Residue can be removed by rinsing with warm water or wiping with a damp cloth. This does not constitute a manufacturing defect and is not grounds for a reprint or refund.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The current version is always available at /terms. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
